The occasion of Paul’s letter which had been addressed to the church in Rome was that that time had been the most appropriate time for Paul to write a letter addressing the Romans. This is because this was perhaps the time when Paul had set out to go to go for his third missionary journey in the city of Corinth and he was present in this city most probably from all probabilities. A.D. 57 is the probable date or year in which the letter which had been addressed to the church in Rome had been written by Paul (Acts 20:2-3). According to Romans 16:23, it can be understood that Paul had been at the house of Gaius.
